How Can Gottman Level 2 Help You?
You’re ready to go beyond the basics and strengthen your confidence working with high-conflict and complex couples.
You want a clearer clinical roadmap—stronger assessment, better case conceptualization, and more effective treatment planning.
Your sessions can feel like you’re refereeing the same fight every week, and you need tools to interrupt escalation and create real movement.
You want advanced interventions that help couples rebuild trust, increase repair, and reconnect emotionally—not just “communicate better.”
You need practical strategies to work with gridlock, perpetual problems, and deep emotional injuries that keep couples stuck.
You want to help partners replace destructive cycles with healthier patterns—and guide them toward lasting change inside and outside the therapy room.
Gottman Level 2 Training Objectives
At the completion of this training, you will be able to:
Clarify whether Level 2 is appropriate if I’m not doing couples therapy full-time.
Explain how Level 2 differs from Level 1 and what “advanced” really means.
Describe what I’ll be able to do after Level 2 that I can’t do now.
Summarize how Level 2 helps with high-conflict couples (escalation, flooding, repeated fights).
Outline how Level 2 supports complex cases (trauma history, affairs, trust rupture, long-term resentment).
Confirm whether Level 2 is useful if my clients are stuck in gridlock or perpetual problems.
Specify whether the training includes step-by-step interventions or stays mostly theoretical.
Demonstrate how the training translates into real sessions (not just concepts).
Identify what prerequisites I need (Level 1 completion, clinical background, experience level).
Compare whether Level 2 is better than other couples therapy trainings for practical application.
Describe the learning format (video review, role-play, discussion, Q&A) and how interactive it is.
Estimate the time commitment and whether I can keep up with the pace.
Confirm whether I’ll receive a certificate and whether it counts toward continuing education.
Explain whether the training is worth the investment for my stage of practice.
Address how Level 2 supports work with individuals (not only couples).
Clarify whether I’ll be expected to role-play or share cases in front of the group.
Describe what I’ll learn if I’m already using Gottman tools—will this still add value?
Summarize what outcomes I should expect in my practice after implementing Level 2 methods.
Confirm whether the training is live, and identify who will teach it (Advanced Gottman Trainer).
Explain what support exists after the training (resources, next steps, Level 3 readiness).
